This is a rare 1940's delicate lace wedding dress by collectible designer Emma Domb. It has simple, elegant and flowing lines. The dress has long sleeves with pointed cuffs and a shallow V neckline. There is a loose lining to the bodice and in fact the neckline could be altered to reveal the detail underneath if required. The waist is seamed and the full skirt flows from princess points at the hips. There is a swishy petticoat lining and the dress fastens with a side metal zip. The cream lace is extremely delicate and has formed some holes over the years but not immediately noticeable and repairable.
Measurements:
bust: 36"
waist: 27"/28"
hips: free
length: 58"
Approximately UK size 10
1940's / CONDITION: Good - the lace has stretched in parts and formed some small holes which could be repaired by delicate needlework. There are some below the waist. Some around the hem and difficult to spot without close scrutiny. There is a tear in the lining where the chiffon meets the waistband, again repairable. The dress does need some TLC but totally worth the effort!
