Vintage 1940's day dress

This is a super day dress from the 1940's, possibly home sewn. Made from a herringbone stripe cotton, the bodice features 3/4 length raglan sleeves and a button front fastening. The buttons are so cute - like lilac pearlescent jelly beans! The neckline has a collar opening. The waist is seamed and the skirt is straight with flattering box pleats over the tummy. The dress fastens at the side with a metal zip.
