This is an elegant blue and cream swirl cocktail dress from the 1950's. There are no fabric labels but it has the look and feel of silk or rayon or a mix. The short sleeves are integral to the bodice and the dress has a wide scoop neckline. The skirt is straight with a kick pleat at the back centre seam above the hem. There is a deem burgundy gathered cummerbund at the waist with pleated decorative overlapping flaps to one side. The dress is lined in burgundy silk acetate and fastens with a back metal zip.
Vintage items rarely conform to modern day sizings and the UK size we give is only a guide. You are advised to check the measurements carefully to ensure a good fit.Measurements:
hips: free to 42"
Approximately UK size 12/14
1950's / CONDITION: Very good - There is a little exposed stitching on the side of the cummerbund where perhaps there was a decorative flower. We would add a vintage brooch but it is totally wearable as it is. There is a little stretch through wear to the fabric under one arm.
