This is a stunning prom dress made from white and blue chiffon. It has spaghetti straps which tie at the shoulders. The bodice has a sweetheart neckline and gathers from the bust. There is a deep ruched cummerbund between the waist and bust. The waist is seamed and the skirt flares from tiny box pleats under the waist band. There is a band of embroidered stitching at the centre skirt. There is a white silk acetate lining and a layer of stiff tulle for fullness. The dress fastens with a back metal zip.
Vintage items rarely conform to modern day sizings and the UK size we give is only a guide. You are advised to check the measurements carefully to ensure a good fit.
Approximately UK size: 6/8 but please check measurements
1950s / CONDITION: Very good - we think there was some kind of decoration like a brooch or flower at the centre of the front cummerbund as there is slight discolouration. Something could be added to cover this if required. There is a torn missing patch of fabric about 1.5"x1.5" at the top layer of the hem. The hem turn up partially disguises this. A few pin prick holes unseen when worn. All reflected in the price.
