This is a beautiful and unusual dress from the 50's. It is made from ink blue satin which is embroidered in pink and purple wool with trailing roses. It has a scooped neckline which dips to a V at the back. The waist is seamed and the skirt flares from box pleats under the waist line. The skirt has a black paper lining in the skirt which gives shape and weight. The dress fastens with a side zip.
Vintage items rarely conform to modern day sizings and the UK size we give is only a guide. You are advised to check the measurements carefully to ensure a good fit.

1950's / CONDITION: Good - there are some tears in the paper lining which don't effect wearability as they are unseen when worn. Some of the embroidery stitches have come undone and would benefit from a bit of nifty needlework to restore the design, or the loose threads could just be tidied up if preferred. There is a seam repair above the zip into the armpit.
