This is a rarely found dress by St Michael from the early 1950s. It is made from pale green rayon fabric with a swirling design in brown and white. It has integral raglan cap sleeves with gathers at the stitched yoke into the bodice. There is a fold flat collar neckline and the dress fastens with buttons to hip level. The waist is seamed and there are gathers into the skirt at the front hips. There are hidden side pockets and the skirt is flared.
Vintage items rarely conform to modern day sizings and the UK size we give is only a guide. You are advised to check the measurements carefully to ensure a good fit.
Approximately UK size: 8/10 but please check measurements
1950s / CONDITION: Very good - some fine line marks to one side of the bodice needing very close scrutiny when worn. There is a hook and eye fastening at the waist and the eye is missing with a small tear to the fabric where it used to be. This is easily replaced and will be hidden from view. A very small seam repair needed at one armpit. All minor.
