1940s pink liquid satin evening gown

  • Description

This is an incredible and unique gown from the 1940's and would make a fabulous wedding dress for the non-traditional bride! The dress is made from a soft self patterned liquid satin fabric. The back bodice is lined in a soft mesh. The dress has long puffed sleeves which fasten with a popper at the cuffs. There is a narrow V neckline and a small collar which can be worn open or fastened with the hook and eye as in the picture. The dress has a drop waist shaped in points which have centre gathers from the bodice, giving a billowing effect. The skirt is amazing! Masses of fabric which drapes like a dream. There is a loose plaited belt shown in the picture giving a Mediaeval look but the dress is also amazing without the belt. There is a panel of vertical stitching at the centre back bodice.
